I'm back! Again! Sorry but I just graduated in a master and things were so chaotic!! I had to finish my thesis and had to deal with my careless professor supervisor.
BTW, recently I was thinking that in the past 2 years I was still listening to the same set of songs, with some temporary obsession for some catchy songs which passed after a couple of weeks.
I felt like lately music was always the same, nothing new, same patterns, same bases... in other words, boring!!
However, in the last couple of weeks, I've rediscovered some artists that I forgot about and also discovered some nice new songs from fresh singers, which is nice! It's always nice explore different music! It's refreshing! Sometimes we're stucked with some songs that just remind us sad or bad things and automatically we feel that way. But sometimes, new music can bring that new energy and can affect our mood in a good or bad way, it depends.
Thanks to a playlist that I heard on BBC Radio 1 I've discovered some new songs that right now are stucked in my head!
The first is the debut single of Harry Styles and the other one is the new song by John Mayer, "Still feel like your man".
Talking about Harry Styles, who came right from a band and now he's working as a solo artist, I was thinking about all those singers that reached fame through a band or group and then start a solo career, leaving behind their band mates and becoming a super star.
2016 was definitely a tough year for the world of show business, a lot of iconic singers and actors sadly passed away like David Bowie, Carrie Fisher, George Michael, Prince, Alan Rickman and many others. I think it's a general opinion that if we had Brexit and Trump's election, 2016 certainly SUCKED, !
But who are the personalities who were able to stand out this year?
One of the event where you can have the time of your life, I think, it's definitely the Glastonbury Music Festival!
Despite the mud, the tons of mud, you can have so much fun, listening and dancing to a lot of gigs of the most popular and famous artists.
Glastonbury is so famous and fun that a lot of celebrities can't refuse at least a day there!
This year the festival was just after the results of the UE referendum that Uk demanded.. and "brexit" won. A decision that will affect everyone, not only the young british people and the you could feel the disappointment also at Glasto.
But let's talk about this another time!
On the 23rd July of 2010, 5 british and irish teenager boys were put together in a boy band called One Direction as contestant at the X Factor UK.
Unfortunately they didn't won, but they gained a lot of fans that supported them till now.
I can say that in five years they became one of the biggest boy band in the world after the great splendour of the 90's bands.
After the X Factor Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Harry Styles aka One Direction began to perform in little concerts that soon became big concerts in even bigger arenas and stadiums with an enormous amount of fans.
I still remember the first time I saw their first video "What makes you beautiful", I thought "Ugh, another boy band of teenagers! But their song is nice". I wasn't a fan but I liked their songs when I randomly listened to them.
While I was listening to their songs, they were becoming each days more and more famous.
They went through dramas, girlfriends, awards, concerts, tours, gossip, fake rumors and all but they're still here.
Last year I randomly listened to the first song of their new album, "Night Changes", after the first listening I couldn't stop! That night I listened to all their new album Four and I loved all their songs!
I was and I am going through a really tough time and listen to them help me, they relax me even if they're targeted as a band for teenager girls. I can't help but I like them, because they're a source of positivity and freshness.
It's amazing see how many fans they have all over the world, and OMG how loud ad crazy (in a good way) they are!!
One Direction, till now, won 188 awards, they made 4 tours, 4 perfums, 4 albums, 12 music videos, 72 songs and 15 singles.
They've lost one member through their trip but they're still together. 4 months ago, Zayn decided to take a break and then leave the band to take care of himself. But some fans took his decision like a betrayal and others tried to understand their idol. It was a really big drama for the fandom.. and you can't imagine how many fanfictions came out! It was insane!
Sometimes their fans go so crazy that no one can explain why they are so frantic and hysterically happy!
Some tried to explain what happens in a fan's brain when she/he listens to One Direction.
Can you imagine how much the fandom freaked out yesterday when Liam wrote a tweet thanking the boys and Zayn? And Zayn replied!
The fans were on fire!
Should we say that beyond their singing skills, they are also so lucky that they are really good looking young men? I can say so. I mean.. Look at them!! Look at them!!!!!
Personally I am a Harry's girl so I freak out just for news about him.
(OMG, why did I just say that?? You're no more a teenager Carol!)
And they're also funny!! Full package, girls!
They reached such a high level of international success that they were invited to perform even at the Arena in Verona, which is one of the greatest honour as an artist!
I live in Verona and I still remember all the screaming coming from the Arena. It was crazy! Unfortunately at the time I liked them but I wasn't a fan so I didn't go to the concert.
They also seem to care to each other a lot, in fact they call each other brother. How cute!
One Direction has a really big potential and they are "exploiting" it very well even if one of the member left.
Now they are the OT4 with many more years to come!!!
But most of all, we need to admit that everyone likes One Direction! How is it possible you never jump and dance to one of their songs? Come on, you can tell me.. ;)
UK is the music festivals' birthplace par excellence, especially during summer! There's the Wireless, the Calling Festival, Camden Lock Live, Dalson Music Festival, Somerset House Summer Series, Lovebox and Glastonbury!
Glastonbury Festival is a 5-day music festival that takes place in Pilton, Somerset; it was first held in 1970, then intermittenly till 1981 and after the festival became annual.
Generally the leading artists perform on the pyramid stage in front of thousand persons and other smaller artists head the alternative stages and areas.
Glastonbury is the biggest greenfield festival in the world with an average of 175,000 people attending the festival (bigger than Coachella!).
This year Glastonbury was held from 24th to 28th June and it was attended by a lot of great artists like Kanye West, The Who, Florence + The Machine, Pharrell Williams, Lionel Richie, Pattie Smith, Mark Ronson, deadmau5, Motorhead, Mary J Blige and Chemical Brothers.
Also James Bay made his apperance on stage.
There were also the Libertines with their leader Pete Doherty!
And then, Kanye, who was stopped in his performance by a stage crasher who is actually a comedian! ahah
Exactly in front of the stage there was Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian.
Cara Delevingne and her bff Kendall Jenner couldn't miss the performance of Kanye, so after their bff Taylor Swift's concert in London, they immediately rush to Glansto!
Patti Smith brought to the stage with her the Dalai Lama!!! WOW!
The actor Idris Elba with his dj set on the Sonic Stage made the crowd crazily dance! OHHHH
Besides the performing artists, there were a lot of other artists and celebrities that attended the festival as fans!
Alexa Chung was there sporting different outfits and also a great good looking Alexander Skarsgard as boyfriend. Good choice Alexa!
Poppy Delevingne and her husband James Cook made their appearence, but also the actor Douglas Booth, Secret Diary of a Call Girl and Doctor Who's actress Billie Piper and Fifty Shades of Grey's director Sam Taylor Johnson with her husband Aaron Johnson were there.
Adele couldn't miss Glansto and she was spotted walking between the stages.
Who else couldn't miss Glasto? James Corden, who tried to go undercover with his colourful hat and his wife. How chic is she with her glass of champagne in the middle of a muddy festival?
Before their last european concert in Helsinki, half of One Direction aka Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson were spotted at the festival (Where is my beloved Harry????).
Model Daisy Lowe and BBC Radio1 dj and next UK X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw danced and sang like there's no tomorrow with their friends at the Florence + The Machine's concert.
Daisy rocked different outfits like a checkered fabric maxi dress, a military green jumpsuit and a white lace long dress.
Nick instead was pretty casual but so "festivaly" with his must-have Hunter boots!
Ahhhh I really wish I was there enjoying some good music.. but no, I'm here stuck with my exams at the university! Next time..!
