Let's see what London showed to us last week and let's start with Victoria by Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice (sorry but for me, she will always be one of the Spice Girls! AH!)
Victoria presented a collection made of pretty dresses and cute trousers all in flower print or with flowery applications. She added a touch of modernity with the neoprene fabric used for the collection but also interchanging simple, straight lines with ruched sleeves or bright coats.
Alice Archer is new to me. Unfortunately I've never heard about this brand but this year I was impressed about the inspiration behind the collection. I think that the inspiration is a mix between the Orient, metropolitan style and 70's vibes. The collection is studed by kimonos, leather jackets, velvet pencil skirts and chequed shirts, all decorated by omnipresent floral applications.
Burberry, after the LCM in January, presented its collection both male and female and f course it all rounded about the classic pieces of the brand: coats, trenches and scarves.
For this collection they used a lot of printed fabrics, embrodereid tighs, sequin dresses, floral and tweed patterns.
They completed the collection with multipatterned bags: python leather, leopard skin, silk and the classic Burberry print all mix in a hand bag with large belt as handle.
Burberry opted for a glittery make up for the collection: a simple make up, almost neutral with "fake glitter tears" down models' eyes and cheekbones. Inspiring!
Erdem played with fabrics, shapes and flowers. The tendecy of this collection is made by dark colours like burgundy, black and navy blue all embrodereided by flowers all over the dresses, the capes, and the jackets.
Alexander McQueen was inspired by a rock chic young princess. In fact the collection is characterized by pretty floral ruffled dresses, black sheer dresses, re-modeled smoking, rocker leather jackets matched with cute organza skirts and long and tight gown sprinkled with pearls and precious gems.
Julien Macdonald aimed to the glam rock style: tight jumpsuits with deep neckline, silver strapless dresses, fish netting fabrics and a lot of fringe!
The male version is a modern and glam soldier with tailored black shirts, tight trousers, high boots and a lot of leather.
Barrus dressed a princess from the past with colourful marble printed fabrics, lace and some bustiers.
Pastel colours are the key of the collection together with wispy trains on trousers and a mix of silk, organza and velvet.
And then we jumped diretly into the italian leg with Milan Fashion Week!
Let's start with Gucci, which kept its inspiration from the 70's with some oriental vibes. The main protagonists of this collection are cozy and fluffy fur coats, sequin long dresses, bright smokings, little hat with their nets and big glasses with relative tweed blazers.
Alberta Ferretti followed the trend of fancy silk pyjamas and brought them on the catwalk and she added some pieces like a silk-wool dress adorned by a fur necklet and a delicate embroidery, a impalpable silk plissèd mini dress and a long milk white silk gown.
Francesco Scognamiglio chose floral printed dark silk, polka dots sheer and colourful furs.
He opted for high waisted tight taylored trousers with silk ribbon as belts, see-through polka dots sheer mini dress with mid blue embroidered bomber jacket and pussy bow leopard printed silk mini dresses.
Scognamiglio created a sheer dress adorned with a lot of sparkling ruches all over the dress which Rita Ora wore during the evening at Mario Testino event in a longer version.
Roberto Cavalli dived fully in the 70's vibes with a lot of sheer dresses, bottom bells jeans, skinny scarves, coats with fur necks and velvet trousers, floral long dresses or bright colours lace dresses and jackets with applications and embroideries.
Versace mixed some classic and some modern with classic shapes in contrast with modern fabrics like neoprene.
The main colours are navy and light blue, black and a touch of yellow and white. They aimed also on the accessories like the headbands and the handbags or backpacks. All reinvented with the add of a fur detail, chains or sequins. Versace definitely surprised me with these cute bags because now I want them all!
Gigi Hadid walked for Donatella Versace and had a little bit of wardrobe malfunction that excited a lot the media.. Come on guys! We're in 2016 and it happens to a lot of models everyday!!!
Dolce & Gabbana took their inspiration from the fairytales, especially Cinderella. It's like they took the society of Cinderella's town and dressed them all. Their models wore cute dresses with little mices applications on them, clocks, pumpkin carriage, and elegant jackets with a lot of gold applications and pins, pearls, adorned collars and necks, dresses full of sequins, coats and dresses made of flowers and big roses and of course something nice to adorned the hair.. this time the flowers and golden hairclips and barrettes with rich ribbons.
As we can see there is a totally different vibes between the London and Milan Fashion Weeks but they are both amazing and so glamorous!
What did you like the most? London? Milan? Which trends did you like?
