Just another Victoria's Secret show

Victoria's Secret show is always controversial for me. I love lingerie and how big this show is getting year by year but I don't like the preparation that models have to follow before the show or just to be selected.
Victoria's Secret's lingerie comes in different sized and I think that also on the catwalk shoul represent different sizes and shapes. There's plenty of amazing models that unfortunately won't even be considered because they don't respect the strict body standards.

This year te show was brought to China in Shanghai, which was a very daring move to bring a lingerie show where models walk in their underwear in a country where everything social is put under a lens.

 

The show was divided into different sections: Nomadic Adventure, Goddesses, Porcelain Angel and Punk Angel, all of them accompanied by 3 different music performances by Leslie Odom Jr, Miguel, Harry Styles and Jane Zhang.

There were familiar faces like Bella Hadid.

At the after party she wore a very sexy red dress by Alexandre Vauthier.

Candice Swanepoel, who came back after a year stop because of her pregnancy and amazingly opened the punk section of the show. She's amazing!

 At the after party she wore a nice black mini dress.

Another Victoria's Secret habitué was the stunning Josephine Skriver.

 Also Martha Hunt and Stella Maxwell walked this year.

 Later Martha chose the simpliest white minidress which is beautiful on her and Alison Lou earrings.

My absolute favourite Maria Borges! She slayed!!!

 I love how tied she is to her roots and how she represents them. In fact at the after party she wore a typical angolan dress.

There were also the "veterans" Lily Aldridge and Alessandra Ambrosio.

Even Karlie Kloss came back after a few years of stop.

The queen Adriana Lima was simply amazing as always. I think she embodies the essence of an angel.

Leomie Anderson was beautiful during the punk angel section.

There were also Sara Sampaio and Elsa Hosk

Beauties like Herieth Paul and Grace Bol ruled the catwalk.

Jasmine Tookes, who wore the Fantasy Bra last year was breath taking on the walk.

Lais Ribeiro, instead, was the one chosen to wear the Fantasy Bra. She's stunning!

 Later Lais wore a sensual and sparkling red dress by Zuhair Murad.

China was represented by beauties like Sui He, Liu Wen and Ming Xi.

To end the show there was the australian model Georgia Fowler, who at the afterparty wore a silver minidress by Julien MacDonald.

 Of course, as every year, the show needed some music and they asked to different singers with completely different vibes to perform. They chose the amazing Harry Styles, Jane Zhang, Miguel and Leslie Odom Jr.

 I really hope that Victoria's Secret sooner or later will revolutionise the entire concept of Angel and decide to include different types of beauties along with the "standardised" ones.
I know beauty standards should not be dictated by the media and fashion industries but unfortunately it still is. So maybe if such a big fashion lingerie company as Victoria's Secret begin to show that not only super skinny and tall models are the best but also all other kind of body types and women are amazing, maybe society will believe it a little bit more too!
