So Haute Couture!

It's finally Haute Couture's week in Paris!
Haute Couture and Paris.. It should be heaven on earth... Well, it is heaven on earth!
This year, I have to say that the great ones disappointed me a little meanwhile the unexpected amazed me.

Chanel.. sacred Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.. I'm sorry but this wasn't what I was expecting. I think that once more, the main inspiration for this season in general is the 1970s fashion, but I don't know.. 70s and Chanel, to me don't mix together every well.

Let's pass to Dior. Another "Big" that didn't impress me much..
Looking at his Haute Couture collection makes me think at 70s discos with the jumpsuits, paillets, stripes and that kind of mid driff.

A "Big" that in general don't get me very excited is Atelier Versace, but this year his collection was very gorgeous!
I really loved the shapes of the dresses with these sheer sections and cut outs.

One of the design of Haute Couture that I really appreciated was Alexis Mabille. Generally I've never paid attention to his collection but this one worth the look. I literally love all the dresses, they are prefect!

But my favorite of alla the designers this season I think is Giambattista Valli.
His collection is amazing! Just one word can describe this collection: perfection.
It so fresh, sweet and bon ton. Love it!
The masterpiece is the headband with the pois lace.

Now, we should take a moment and look at the collection of the King of Haute Couture: Elie Saab.
There aren't enough words to describe him.
Just. FABULOUS.

Who run the world? Girls!

Right now for me is not an actual great time.. actually it's since may that is not a great time for me but there are few things that cheer me up like shopping, listening to music or watching series.
I could literally devour 4 seasons in 2 days non-stop! I mean, who, at least once, didn't do it?
However, right now is coming back one of my favourite series: Girls!

It's a comedy-drama that makes you laugh a lot (it happened that I have to stop the episode because I wad laughing so hard! ahah) and makes you think at the same time, because it analyzes some issues of modern youth like unemployment, pursuing your dreams no matter what, relationship, sex, friendship, mental diseases and other.
Most of all it's a series with a female point of view and it represents different kind of women's point of view.

Hannah is the most rambling girl and I love her, she's so sincere and unpredictable that you love her or hate her.

Shoshanna is so random! she's the youngest and the most inexperienced one but she's sweet and a little bit neurotic.

Marnie is the classic "know-it-all" girl, the perfect one but when her certainties fall apart she has to reconsiders her priorities.

Jessa, she's a mess, the mess that everyone love because she's so dangeorous and a carpe diem person, but honestly I hate that kind of person! Persons who don't want to understand the circumstances and the consequences that actions bring with them.

I have to mention also NOT a girl but Elijah, the ex gay boyfriend of Hannah and friend from college from Marnie. He's a literally fresh air when in tense situations.

The relations between these characters is a deep friendship but sometimes things are complicated due to the difference of attitudes and choices but at the end they love each other.

By the way Girls is a brilliant show written, produced and played by Lena Dunham, who is so funny and real! What I like about her is that is not a classical beauty and she's not afraid of showing it! She's so self-confident and without restrictions!
I like her way to think!

I can relate a little in each of these girls because all of them say some truth!

To me the best episode so far was the fifth one of the second season. I loved the random "rendezvous" between Hannah and the handsome neighbour.

 (Hello handsome Patrick Wilson!)
-how old are you?
-42 and you?
-24, don't worry we're basically twins!

 Best line ever! ahah

I really recommend this tv series, it's worth the watch!

London Collections: Men

This week it took place the London collection: men, four entire days of fashion dedicated to men.
I get a look to the trends and designers want to bring to life and my first thought was that they are reinvented the classic pieces from 60's and 70's.

Tom Ford, in fact brought back the suiting but this year with a slimmer cut. It's good to see the retur of the black and white checkered blazers and jackets matched with white shirts underneath.
I really appreciated the smocking jackets with slim trousers andbow ties. Really chic!

Talking about revisiting classic old fashion, here we are with Margaret Howell and her shearling line. She proposed bombers, coats and overcoats which can be exploited from a cool fall to a harsh winter. If I were a boy (Beyonce feelings), I would love to wear this new trend! These suede coats give this 70's feel that I really love!

I always loved Alexander McQueen and his extravagant collections and this year with Sarah Burton there are no exceptions. I loved the jaquard jackets and suits with floral details. I have to admit that I love skinnt trousers to men, that's way I adore these velvet slim suits matched with long overcoats.

To me the best in this London Collections Men was Burberry Prorsum. It never let you down!
i loved the mix between dark and light/pastel colours. They mixed formal and classic shapes with floral and  leopard prints matched with suede bags and topcoats. But the best piece of this collection was definitely the patterned and monogramed big scarfs. A really interesting men's accessory!

Talking about street style, during the London Collections Men I really appreciated the youtuber Jim Chapman, aka the best dressed man by GQ.
I think that he definitely embodies the perfect style for a men. He wears classic but also casual and modern outfit with a touch of unusual.
