Disastrous Oscars

Oscars!!!! YES!!! After a not so thrilling awards season (fashionally speaking ahah), I couldn't wait for the Oscars! Usually movie stars and candidates show off the best outfit of the year.. however, it wasn't like that.
Nothing exciting, but pretty monotonous. Yes, of course, there were some good outfits, but nothing breath-taking as it should be!
The night had a unexpected turn out with the big mistake in the declaration of the best picture. It was called La La Land on the stage when the real winner was Moonlight! Ops!!!

Ruth Negga, who was candidates as best leading actress for the role in Loving, wore a red lace number by Valentino, with Bally shoes and Irene Neuwirth and Gemfields jewelry.

Viola Davis, who won the best supporting actress, (I must add, she definitely deserved it, because she's amazing!) wore a red number custom made Armani Privè dress with Stuart Weitzman shoes, Bally bag and Niwaka jewelry.

Felicity Jones channeled her inner ballerina with an adorable pearl white dress by Dior Haute Couture with Christian Louboutin shoes and Niwaka jewelry.

Chrissy Teigen wore a Zuhair Murad dress with Stuart Weitzman shoes, Judith Leiber clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Karlie Kloss wore an elegant white dress with semi-cape by Stella McCartney, with Stuart Weitzman heels, Roger Vivier clutch and Nivar Modi jewelry.

Emma Roberts wore a vintage Armani Privè dress with Armani shoes and and bag.

Michelle Williams, who was candidate as best  supporting actress wore a black and white dress by Louis Vuitton.

Kirsten Dunst was very classy in a black custom made Christian Dior Haute Couture dress with Roger Vivier clutch, Christian Lacriox shoes and Niwaka diamond necklace and earrings.

Last year best leading actress winner, Alicia Vikander wore a black lace dress by Louis Vuitton with Bulgari jewelry.

Salma Hayek wore a sexy lace dress by Alexander McQueen with Fred Leighton jewelry, Alexander McQueen bag and Sophia Webster shoes.

Nicole Kidman was strongly criticized for her dress because too boring, but I liked it! She wore a beige Armani Privè gown and bag with Stuart Weitzamn shoes, Harry Winston jewelry and Omega watch.

Emma Stone, who won the best leading actress, wore a gold custom made Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci with Tiffany & Co jewellery.

Hailee Steinfeld, to me, was the best dressed of the night. Her make up, hair and outfit were amazing! Her style was simple but very elegant and not presumptuous. She wore a floral dress by Ralph & Russo, with Neil Lane jewelry, Charlotte Olympia shoes and Judith Lieber clutch.
For the afterparty, she opted for another Ralph & Russo dress with Neil Lane jewelry and Stuart Weitzaman shoes.

Taraji P. Henson was my second favourite outfit. She opted for a navy blue velvet off-the-shoulders dress by Alberta Ferretti with Jimmy Choo shoes and bag and Nirav Modi jewels.

Brie Larson wore my third favourite outfit: a black velvet custom Oscar de la Renta with Neil Lane jewelry and Aquazzura heels.

Now let's talk about the big NO NO of the night. For me, Jessica Biel and her gold Kaufmanfranco dress was a no! She completed her outfit with Tiffany & Co. jewels and Stuart Weitzman shoes. I don't know whar's wrong with this outfit, maybe the make up and hair or the cut of the dress that didn't enhance her figure, but I didn't like it.

Dakota Johnson, the Fifty shades Darker's actress, was another big no no. She wore a Gucci Fall-Winter 2017-2018 champagne satin long sleeve high neck gown with front plisse detail, dramatic cascading bow at the waist and tulip slit worn with metallic gold high heel shoes and metallic gold clutch with feline head closure.Usually I love Gucci so much! But this dress was not adequately accessorized and her make up was too much light, maybe to compensate her dress but it needed to be more marked.

Just a little note.. Why call Justin Timberlake to sing the opening song for the Oscars?? He wasn't even nominated for something! I, personally, would prefer a performance of John Legend since La La Land was nominated as best original score!

I have to admit that I was a little bit disappointed by the outfits and also by the winners.. except Viola Davis of course!

What do you think about last night??

That's all for now

Talk to you soon!

Carol
